Joe Goldberg

SCIP: Current President
Senior Director, Business Intelligence in Motorola’s Corporate Strategy Office, Joe Goldberg supports the business intelligence processes, and analysis and collection activities on a worldwide basis. He has been at Motorola since 1993 in this, and related, positions. Joe has been a SCIP member since 1994 and has spoken at numerous conferences on intelligence and related issues.

Qihao MIAO has 20 years’ experience in consulting for the government in science and engineering policy study and for company clients in industry analysis and market intelligence. He has been pioneering in the translation of international CI knowledge into Chinese practice, including organization and methodology. He helped quite a few Chinese companies establishing CI capabilities, currently proactive in CI promotion and training.

        

Kent Potter

Kent Potter is Founder and Managing Director of the Bennion Group., an Utah-based management consulting firm that includes the brands First-to-Know, Business Backroom, and Bennion-Robertson, Inc..
He is the former head of the BellSouth Intelligence Resource Group, and has helped design and develop the intelligence processes of over 40 major corporations around the world. Early in his career, Mr. Potter served as Director of Marketing for two mid-sized technology and process consulting companies, and he has founded two different and successful business-to-business service firms.
Mr. Potter is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Utah (B.A.) and holds a Graduate Certificate in International Relations. He also holds a Master's degree in business from Johns Hopkins University.

                 

Keith Ruark

Keith has 14+ years experience in the healthcare industry. Before joining AVOS as one of its founding partners, Keith held senior management positions within Quintiles Transnational including Executive Director positions in its investment arm, PharmaBio Development, and in its contract sales arm, Innovex. Within PharmaBio, Keith had a lead transactional role for either pharmaceutical product or company based investments. His tasks included deal structuring, negotiating and contracting. Keith has also held commercial positions at Roche and Procter and Gamble where, in addition to ethical drugs, he had Consumer Healthcare responsibilities. For example, Keith worked on numerous “pilot” initiatives to support P&G’s customer campaign with Wal-Mart. Keith holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and MBA in Strategy and Finance from Yale University.

        

Holger Meissner

With over 20 years of experience in the Self-Medication market, as well as work experience in eight countries in local, regional and global positions, Holger brings unique and well-seasoned in-company perspectives to Adler Life Sciences. Prior to founding Adler Life Sciences, Holger was the Head of the Global Competitive Intelligence at Bayer HealthCare Consumer Care Division in Morristown, New Jersey. He joined the Bayer Group in 1985. Throughout his years at Bayer, he held positions of increasing responsibility in local, regional and global marketing functions for the Consumer Care Division, managing brands such as Bayer Aspirin, Alka-Seltzer, Canesten, Talcid and Bayer’s former Household Brands such as Baygon. During this time he worked in various countries such as Germany, Colombia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and China. Holger is also a distinguished speaker at Pharma Competitive Intelligence Conferences.

        

Arik Johnson

Founder & CEO, Aurora WDC Managing Director, Consulting & Training Services.
Arik Johnson is chief executive of the competitive intelligence think tank and reconnaissance bureau, Aurora WDC, which he founded in 1995. As managing director and chief architect of Aurora’s consulting business, Arik works with organizations of all kinds to develop their intelligence apparatus to monitor, detect and interpret change in their business environment.
He currently chairs the Development Committee for SCIP’s non-profit Competitive Intelligence Foundation, which publishes books on CI subjects, the Journal of Competitive Intelligence and Management and is coordinating the CI Body of Knowledge project which is expected to lead to a certification credential administered and accredited by SCIP. Derek Johnson

Chief Operating Officer & Director of Research. Derek Johnson is Chief Operating Officer and Director of Research for Aurora WDC, and is principally responsible for the oversight of all client research and analysis engagements. Derek joined Aurora after several years in the Investment Management business, where he worked directly with the President and CEO of the firm with respect to new business development, scheduling and leading client portfolio reviews, and overseeing many of the back-office functions of the business.
He has been appointed Conference Chair of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) annual conference in Chicago in April 2009, and currently serves as Wisconsin’s SCIP chapter chair. He is also active in the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Benjamin Feng CHEN

Dr. Benjamin Feng CHEN is associate research fellow of Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China(ISTIC), Deputy Secretary –General of Society Competitive Intelligence of China (SCIC), and founder member of China Consulting Association for Science and Technology. Dr. Chen received his Management Ph.D Degree at Peking University in 2002 after finishing his doctoral dissertation titled “Studies on Competitive intelligence Oriented Business Strategic Management ”.In June 2006, Dr. Chen finished his postdoctoral research major in technology foresight after two years. As one of the leading series on informatics research field, his book “Competitive Intelligence and Strategic Management” was published by Scientific and Technical Publishing House in November, 2004 and over 30 papers have been published on the core periodicals. Moreover, Dr. Chen has been teaching postgraduate students the courses of “Competitive Intelligence” and “Competitive Strategies and Advantages” at ISTIC and Antai School of Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University and giving lectures and trainings to more than 30 companies, for example, China Network Communications Group Corporation, Guangdong Mobile Communications Corporation, Shougang Group etc.

        

Tao Jin

Tao Jin, Assistant Professor, Louisiana State University.He received his PhD and master’s degree from the School of Information Studies, McGill University, Canada. Prior to attending McGill, he worked for Dow Jones & Company, Inc., as an Associate Editor in its Beijing office. His research interests dwell upon competitive intelligence, human information behavior, knowledge management, organizational communication, business information management and processing, and Webometrics. Since 2003, he has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, conference proceedings in these areas. Funded by Canadian Government, his latest research project was a two-year investigation on how CI professionals work in reality across Canada. His current research project is about the information needs of small and medium businesses in Louisiana.

        

Moshe Even-Shoshan

President of SRS Intelligence,Moshe Even-Shoshan is a recognized expert in corporate intelligence. He is a seasoned practitioner of competitive intelligence collection (including field operations abroad).
